Bali Hope Ultra - Team Edition

"Amazing!!! The whole event itself was planned out perfectly and the amazing humans met made it even more beautiful "

Chrissie Collinson, Melbourne, Australia

What is Bali Hope Ultra - Team Edition?

"The Bali Hope Ultra was indescribable but a few words do come to mind.......uplifting, emotional, inspiring, daunting, empowering, human, tiring, wonderful, heartfelt and above all, a pleasure to be a part of no matter how small that part.”

Pete Tinworth. Sydney, Australia

Ever since The Bali Hope Ultra started in 2018 we have had requests from runners wanting to share the distance with a friend, family or colleague.

And in year 7 of the project we’ve decided to create an event to make that happen.

Teams are welcome to participate in groups of 2, 3 or 4 each completing 42.2km, 28km or 21.2km.

Participants fundraise for one of our award-winning impact partners in Bali or Australia.

Runners are asked to fundraise to a minimum of US$1500.

The 7-day itinerary is detailed below.

Places are limited to 20 teams.

Pricing is all-inclusive for the 7 days of the event:

  • 4* and 5* Accommodation

  • All meals & hospitality

  • Race entry & logistics

  • Event apparel

  • Fundraising support & training advice.

Registration starts from:

  • Team of 2 : US$3,000pp

  • Team of 3 : US$2,850pp

  • Team of 4: US$2,700pp

How it works

  1. Register your team of 2, 3 or 4 who will complete the 84km distance in 21km, 28km or 42km legs.

  2. Connect with our impact partners

  3. Access bespoke training support

  4. Connect with other participants on the team WhatsApp group.

Event Itinerary

Day 1 – Team Arrival & Welcome Reception
Wednesday, May 21, 2025

Arrive and check in from 3 PM at The Alila, a stunning 5-star resort. Spend the afternoon relaxing, soaking in the beautiful surroundings, and getting to know your teammates before gathering for an evening welcome reception and team dinner.

After months of training, preparation, fundraising, and connecting online, this is your first chance to meet the team in personβ€”an unforgettable moment as you embark on this journey together.

Day 2 – Impact Day
Thursday, May 22, 2025

Start the day with The Alila’s renowned breakfast before heading north to the very community you’ve been fundraising for. Here, you’ll meet the families, visit the schools, and witness firsthand the impact of your efforts.

After lunch, we’ll transfer to The Lovina Bali Resort, our team’s home base. Enjoy some well-earned relaxation before we come together again for a special Team Dinner, reflecting on the experiences of the day and preparing for the journey ahead.

Day 3 – Team Day
Friday, October 31, 2025

Start the day with a leisurely breakfast, then embrace the calm before the challenge ahead. Spend the day as you chooseβ€”unwinding at The Lovina Bali Resort, exploring sections of the race route, or even swimming with the local dolphins. This is your time to mentally and physically prepare for the adventure to come.

Gather with your teammates for a Team Lunch and Dinner, followed by a pre-race meeting and safety briefing to ensure everyone is fully prepared for the big day.

Day 4 – Race Day
Saturday, November 1, 2025

Race day is here! Take the morning for any final preparations, staying focused and relaxed. The only structured event before the race is an emotional pre-race blessing ceremony, a moment of reflection and unity for the team.

Behind the scenes, we’ll be coordinating with your support crewβ€”whether that’s a partner, family member, or friendsβ€”while finalizing and loading support vehicles. To ensure the best experience for all participants, we operate three separate start times based on experience level: newcomers, intermediate runners, and elite endurance athletes.

Day 5 – Finish Line & Celebration
Sunday, November 2, 2025

Your journey culminates at Old Man’s, Canggu’s iconic beachfront bar and surfer hangout.

As each runner crosses the finish line, we’ll gather for an unforgettable Finish Line Ceremony & Celebration, marking the completion of an extraordinary challenge. After the festivities, transportation will be provided back to The Alila, where you can reflect on an experience that will stay with you forever.

Day 6 – Closing Party
Monday, November 3, 2025

As the journey winds down, today is all about relaxation, reflection, and celebration.

Spend the day unwinding at the luxurious Alila Hotel, enjoying its world-class amenities while reminiscing with your teammates about the incredible experience you’ve shared.

In the evening, we’ll come together one last time for a Closing Partyβ€”a special night featuring sunset drinks and a celebratory dinner at a stunning private villa, the perfect way to toast your achievements.

Day 7 – Event Close
Tuesday, November 4, 2025

Start the day with a final Alila breakfast, followed by a relaxed morning to soak in the last moments of this unforgettable journey.

By now, you will have formed lifelong friendships and a deep connection with your fellow runnersβ€”bonds forged through shared challenges, triumphs, and an extraordinary experience.

Though the event officially concludes today, the Bali Hope Ultra will stay with you long after you leave the island. Many team members choose to extend their stay, continuing their adventure with friends and family in the beauty of Bali.

FAQS

Joining The Bali Hope Ultra - Team Edition

Β· Can I join the run but not the rest of the week?

Unfortunately not. The integrity of our running team, our shared experience and our itinerary means this is not possible.

Β· Do I need to bring my own β€˜crew’?

No our support crew ios there for everyone and all runners receive the same level of support.

Β· What is your advice if I have never run long distance before?

About half those joining tend to be newcomers to endurance running, some may have completed a marathon and others just 20km. The common characteristic of all these individuals was a high level of commitment to prepare as best they could. We connect the team via a Whatsapp group 4-5 months from the start of the event, host zoom calls to share

Β· What is your advice on the right training schedule?

The support we provide our successful applicants includes access to a detailed training program written specifically for the Bali Hope Ultra course.

Some of our more experienced team members will pass on their expert advice and answer questions through our team Whatsapp group.

There is certainly not one approach that suits everyone and factors such as your age, current fitness levels, nutrition and mindset are important. Some runners recommend a focus on strength, hill and speed training while others recommend building up to the event with a significant amount of β€œvolume”. There is plenty of advice available from runners of all levels who completed the course.

Β· What equipment will I need?

Mandatory equipment includes: a head torch, back light, camel pack and smart phone with an additional battery pack.

Β· What level of support is there on the run?

We will operate 2 start times to accommodate different levels of experience.

Runners can chose to start at either 6:30pm and 9:30pm.

We suggest teams of targeting a sub-10 hour run choses the 9:30pm time, and everyone else at 6:30pm.

With each starting group (of approximately 15-20 runners) we have 3 SUVs and 3 motorbikes providing support with aid stations at approximately every 5km.

The SUVs are catered with access to nutrition, hydration and medical support.

Runner safety on this open-road race is our key priority. With this in mind we have a highly-experienced health and safety director, emergency medical back-up, and paramedics on the course.

Β· What insurance do I need?

Every runner will need personal travel & emergency medical insurance covering endurance events.

Fundraising

Β· What is your advice on fundraising?

Critical factors on successful fundraising include: starting early to raise awareness of what you are doing, the impact it will make and the training commitment required to complete the run, and then follow this up with personal messages to friends, family and your broader network.

The unique nature of the ultramarathon and the pedigree of our impact partner will make fundraising considerably easier than you’d expect.

Β· What if I miss the fundraising target

We don’t penalise you for missing the target but ask you to commit to doing your best. The averaged raised by each runner is nearly double the target amount.
